After a number of years on Jermyn Street for Thomas Pink and with Savile Row tailor Anderson and Sheppard, James Field has dressed hundreds of professionals, politicians, actors and celebrities. From running Made to Order for Pink in their flagship store, he gained further responsibilities in London, Dublin, Paris and New York. He has also been heavily involved in the promotion of British style with further trips overseas. While on Savile Row, James advised and styled clients for every eventuality from personal appearances to glossy magazine shoots, as well as giving advice to teams in large blue chip companies in the art of dressing well for the corporate world. Having styled for Vanity Fair, Tatler and other menswear publications he continues to commentate and advise on men’s style.
James currently works at Debrett’s, managing their training programmes surrounding etiquette and British style. At the heart of Debrett’s training is providing the skills and confidence – the social intelligence – for any professional or social situation.
Commenting on style and etiquette on BBC television and Radio 4, James has also been featured and interviewed by The Daily Telegraph, The Wall Street Journal, and Esquire Magazine. He writes his own blog Collar to Cuff and contributes for The Huffington Post, the Anderson & Sheppard Notebook, and WhatBestToWear.com.
This blog will offer advice and explore all that is important for the modern day gent.
